Photograph caption dated November 26, 1953 reads, "Harvesting of corn in Antelope Valley is being done for the first time this season with a new type picker-sheller. Herb Kellogg of Lancaster operates the one-man, self-propelled unit as harvest of field corn starts this month in the district. Grain from the 2000 acres planted in the area will be used locally for poultry and livestock feed."
