Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph article dated March 21, 1962 partially reads, "Four men escaped serious injury Tuesday night when their light plane made a forced landing on Sepulveda Blvd. near Roxford St. in Sylmar. The pilot, Richard Owston, 30, Anaheim, told officers the engine in his Piper Apache stopped, and he was forced to make a landing on the roadway without any power. Police said the plane rolled a short distance after touching down, spun when its wings clipped the roadway's elevated surface, then slammed nose-down into the pavement."
