Leslie B. Henry was arrested and charged with grand theft for having dissipated funds and securities placed in his custody by Charlotte Shelby, mother of Mary Miles Minter and Margaret Shelby.
First photograph caption dated December 22, 1932 reads, "Mrs. Shelby stated that much of the missing property belongs to her daughter, Margaret Shelby Fillmore, above. Henry's letter told of his 'frantic fear...and the greatest rising market in history of the world was casting aside stock because of momentary declines.'"; Second photograph caption dated March 8, 1933 reads, "Mrs. Margaret Shelby Fillmore, beautiful former film actress and daughter of Mrs. Shelby, was to be called as a prosecution witness. Mrs. Shelby said much of the missing property was Mrs. Fillmore's."
