"Br. Tietzen, der eingeb. Prediger Wamusamba und der Oberhäuptling Mukoma von Inamwanga." ("Brother Tietzen, the African preacher Wamusamba and Paramount chief Mukoma of Inamwanga."). On the left: Wamusamba. In the center: Brother Tietzen wearing white clothes and a hat. On the right: Mukoma wearing a traditional headdress but European clothes. In the background: thatched huts.
Wamusamba was ordained on 19th of May, 1935 in Mbozi. A few days after his ordination, his wife died from pneumonia. He had seven children. -- Theodor Tietzen (1893-1973) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. Having married Hildegard Marie Lenz in 1921 and served in South Africa (West) from 1922 to 1927, he moved to East Africa, where he served in Mbozi till 1929 and in Utengule till 1939. In the 1950s he returned to South Africa. -- Mukoma was the title of the ruler in Inamwanga, who perceived himself as a sacred ruler. Chief Mukoma supported Brother Gemuseus and Brother Tietzen in finding a suitable place for a new Mission station in Inamwanga. -- Ernst Hermann Schnabel (1904-1953) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine and served in East Africa until the end of the 1930s. In 1934, he married Käthe Prellwitz in Kyimbila.
