Description
The top of a palm tree sits in a wooden crate above a wide hole in the ground at Carmelita, the estate of Dr. Ezra Carr and his wife, Jeanne C. Carr, in Pasadena, California. Several men stand in and around the hole, some with shovels. A pulley system has been constructed in the hole to lower the palm into place.
