Description
Image of a younger woman being escorted out of a doorway in the home of an older couple, while an old woman reaches out and an old man stands on a chair holding a framed picture on the wall, with a sign above the door that reads "God Bless Our Home"; the poster advertises the melodrama "Blue Jeans" written by Joseph Arthur.
Probable date based on general show history; the play was first staged in 1890 and was performed regularly through the 1890s; the copy held by the Photograph and Prints Division of the Library of Congress is dated as [1899]. "The / Enquirer / Job Printing Co. / Cin, O."--text, bottom right. "'The Picture Turned Toward the Wall.'"--text, caption, bottom centered.
