Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated June 22, 1964 reads "Members of the committee which is exploring the possibility of setting up a memorial to the former heavyweight boxing champion are shown as they met yesterday at the late boxer's home where they started action which may spur Burbank to honor one of it (sic) most illustrious citizens who until his death had called this metropolis his home for nearly 50 years. The plan is to make a shrine of his home and a park of the remaining Jeffries property. From left, the committee members are Roy Campbell, Mrs. A. J. Soares, Mrs. J. M. Deitchman, Mrs. Florence Gower Edgerly, Mayor Carl King and Mrs. Frances Muir Pomeroy." The home was eventually torn down.
