Mrs. Librada Traslavina, 43, her daughter Alicia, 11, son Arturo, 5, and family friend Mauro Baltherra, 45, were killed when they were struck by Edward L. Gannon's 70,000-pound truck at Los Palos street and East Olympic boulevard in East Los Angeles on November 14th. Gannon was arrested 6 hours after the accident and was eventually arraigned on four counts of manslaughter and one count of hit and run for leaving the scene without rendering aid or assistance. Photograph dated November 19, 1947.
