Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Hotel Metropole in Avalon, ca.1900. The three-story Victorian hotel can be seen at center. Large rectangular windows look out from all three floors, while a covered porch wraps around the entire front side of the building. Several brick chimneys can be seen on the steeply sloped roof. In the foreground, two wide dirt roads intersect at left, and a group of people and horses can be seen at right. Steep hills are visible across the image in the distance.
