Description
In 1989 the Headlands Center for the Arts began sponsoring a program for children in the Sausalito public school with the goal of stimulating literacy in all its forms. In this recording, children involved in the Literacy Project from the Martin Luther Jr. School proudly read their poetry developed during the project. This nomination is paired with a series of photographs documenting the program.
