Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated January 2, 1951 partially reads, "Donald Ralph Brooks, 26, was arraigned on a formal murder complaint in Burbank Police Court today for the New Year's Day slaying of his wife's girl-friend. The suspect, an unemployed aircraft worker of 220 N. Sparks St., Burbank, pumped two slugs from a .22 caliber automatic pistol into a residence where his wife was visiting at 577 E. Olive Ave., Burbank. One bullet crashed through a window, barely missing his 5-year-old son, Gary, and the other pierced the front door - fatally wounding Miss Mary Rachel Watkins, 33, resident of the address."
