Photograph caption dated June 16, 1962 reads, "Elaine Elliott, 16, book project chairman at Van Nuys High School, sorts obsolete textbooks that will be sent this week to the Kericho African Secondary School in Kenya, Africa. The Van Nuys and Studio City Rotary clubs are assisting with the project. The Los Angeles Board of Education approved the textbook program."
