Description
The Biltwell Garage, located on the southwest corner of Ninth and L, was built in 1920 for a cost of $50,000 for the Brown Motor Sales Company. Once complete, the structure included a garage, machine shop, salesroom and, according to the Sacramento Bee, "was fitted up with restrooms and shower baths for the dust covered motorist." The garage is pictured just after suffering a gasoline fire in 1934. The Sutter Club building is visible behind the garage, to the left.
