Description
A mud-splattered youth throws a shovelful of mud out of Fern Dell Creek as an official looks on from the bridge. Photograph caption dated July 10, 1970 reads, "Laborers work 24 hours a week for $1.40 per hour. Youth corpsman shovels mud from Fern Dell pool under watchful eye of George Williams, administrator for the Watts Labor Community Action Council. Watson's group, the City Department of Recreation and Parks, and the Youth Corps are sponsors of the summer cleanup program at Griffith Park."
