Description
A cabinet card photograph of Chinese participants in a Los Angeles parade, probably La Fiesta de Los Angeles, 1896. The photographer stood on the east side of Main Street close to Fifth Street looking northwest toward the Van Nuys Hotel at Main and Fourth. Chinese men, one on horseback and the remainder on foot, are marching, with a participant carrying an American flag. Spectators stand on both sides of the street with a pedestrian crossing near the photographer. With a slight curvature to the matte and a ghost image from item .2 of this accession on the reverse, the condition is good.
