Photograph caption dated December 8, 1961 reads, "This 2-year-old shepherd dog is one of many fine animals available from Valley shelters for payment of a small fee. The animals must also be licensed and given vaccination shots by their new owners. The Valley shelters are at 543 Glenoaks Blvd., San Fernando, 13131 Sherman Way, North Hollywood and 2 W. Burbank Blvd., Burbank."
