Description
A school building stands alone amid open land and agricultural fields at Fair Oaks Avenue in Pasadena, California. Dozens of school children stand outside the front. A group of men and a few women stand at the entrance of building.
Title and alt-title transcribed from back of photo-mount. Date approximated by cataloger based on general history of building and photographer; the Pasadena Central School was sold in 1886, and the Jarvis studio operated from about 1886 until 1894. Handwritten along left and bottom edges of photo-mount: "Members of the Shakespeare Club. / Colorado St. Between Raymond & Fair Oaks. Bankers and big 'Butter and egg men.'"
