Description: Here is the exterior of one of the homes in the federal government's small farm homestead project at El Monte on August 1, 1935. The windows are large, the rooms airy, and the house charming. The hip roof is adapted from an early California design. All the homes have concrete floors and are built to be lasting and useful.
