Description
Photograph of "the door through the sycamores" in Santa Monica Canyon, ca.1910. A narrow dirt road cuts between two lines of sycamore trees. The branches of the trees reach across the road and touch over the middle of it, creating the illusion of a tunnel. At left is a small wooden footbridge over a drainage ditch. A white house is visible on the opposite side of the ditch, mostly hidden by the sycamores. The ground around the road is littered with fallen leaves.
