Description
Photograph of two men on a skiff in the Shanghai harbor, ca.1900. The man to the left stands in the aft of the slipper-shaped boat, propelling it by way of a long pole dropped into the water. To the right, the second man stands on the bow, his hand extended in front of him, slightly. In the background, a much larger ship (possibly coal-burning) can be seen to the right, and the rest of the harbor is visible.
