Description
Tandem bicycle loaded with hunting rifle, skiis, and sleep sacks. The French army became the first to use bicycles in war during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871. The United States' first attempt to use bicycles in the military was in 1898 during the Spanish-American War. Bicycles were also used effectively in WWI and II.
