Shows shovel in quarry #1 loading train (drill sharpening shop, tram, old timber dam) -- panel 4. Shows abandoned concrete plant -- panel 5-6. This view shows the character of the rock pile below the cableway system. Note the excellent mixing of the small and large rock. Empty rock skip returning to quarry -- panel 7. Looking down stream over rock fill. Rock skip on cableway discharging -- panel 8. Shows rock fill on right bank -- panel 9. Quarry of subcontractor Rupolo shows at the right hand edge of view and the quarry of subcontractor Arndt shows in the upper left hand corner -- panel 10. Quarry of subcontractor Barce shows in the upper right hand quarry -- panels 11-12. The shovel in quarry #2, which has been abandoned, shows in the distance. 2010-0273. Album documents the building of Strawberry Dam between 1912 and 1916; dam was built at the site of an older Strawberry Dam on lower Strawberry Creek for Sierra and San Francisco Power Company by Willetts & Burr; also shows work on Philadelphia Ditch, a ditch and flume running from a point on South Fork of Stanislaus River 1 1/2 miles sw of town of Strawberry to Philadelphia Diggins (ditch bought by Power Company from Stockton Gravel Mining Co. in 1912); dam and ditch intended to supply water locally and electricity and power to markets as far as San Francisco.
