View of train ceremony invitation addressed to Mr. Geo. R. Furman, of Los Angeles. The invitation partially reads, "Los Angeles, Sept. 3, 1876 - Dear Sir, You are respectfully invited to participate in the ceremonies of laying the last rail connecting Los Angeles with San Francisco. Train will leave the depot corner Commercial and Alameda Streets at 9AM on Tuesday Sept [illegible]. Truly yours, [illegible]." Photograph dated 1876.
