Description
One cent postcard showing the interior of the first floor of I. Magnin & Co. department store at the corner of Wilshire Blvd and New Hampshire Ave. The back of the postcard states "Exclusive Feminine Apparel and Accessories" and describes the "First floor vista" as "walls are of Rose de Brignolles marble". It goes on to say "Here are exclusive Magnin accessories, with individual salons for gifts, negligees, lingerie and corsets, shoes, luggage and leather goods." Display cases line the walls and are in the center of a spacious aisle. A chandelier hangs from the ceiling. The store received an award in 1939 from the Lighting Fixtures Industries of Southern California for best lighting installation. Designed by Myron Hunt.
