Photograph caption reads: "This is the area where singer-actor Frank Sinatra wants to build a launching pad--for helicopters, not rockets--so he can whisk himself from his own pad to Los Angeles International Airport. Neighbors around his home at 2666 Bowmont Dr. in Coldwater Canyon say no, there's the inconvenience of noise and possible threat of fire. But the soon-to-be-wed entertainer says sturdy iron posts would support a platform, off his parking area to the right. Design of the heliport, he said, would be similar to that of the house, a cliff-hanger shown in the background. Action on the actor's request was continued to Feb. 15 by the City Planning Commission to give the Federal Aviation Agency time to complete its report." Photograph dated: Jan. 20, 1962.
