En festlig dag med taler af arbejdsgruppens leder, borgmester og repræsentanter fra de medvirkende selskaber. Flere hundrede kunder og gæster kom og var med til af fylde butikken op. Folk stod en overgang som sild i en tønde og kunne hverken komme frem eller tilbage. "Østvendsyssels Ungdomsskole" medvirkede. De stillede med klaver, sax og bongotrommer. Festligt indslag. Det blev en god dag. På et tidspunk lød der fra en medarbejder : "Bent, nu kan der snart ikke være flere 100krone-sedler i kassen". Dagens salg blev på kr. 5.330,20. Første måneds husleje, lys og varme var hjemme

The opening of "Købmandsgårdens Recycling Store", Dronninglund, 24/3/1999. A joyful day with speeches by the working group leader, the Mayor and representatives from the participating societies. Several hundred customers and visitors turned up, making the shop quite crowded. Students from the "East Vendsyssel Youth School" performed a music program, using piano, sax and bongo drums. Also a great business day, with a total sale of DKK 5.330,20 – enough for one month's payment of rent, light and heat.
