San Fernando Valley State College later became California State University, Northridge. Photograph caption dated October 5, 1963 reads, "It began by flipping tin ash trays into empty cantaloupe halves. Then Art Kahn, Secretary treasurer of the Valley State College tiddleywink players; Cheryl Rosenfeld, social director, and Larry Lipsher, coach and athletic director, from left, decided they'd get into the serious business of squaps and squips. It's school's official tiddleywink team, they say, but college officials have no comment."
