Image of a head-and-shoulders portrait of American actor Louis Aldrich, wearing formal dress, in an oval decorated with United States flags, eagle, leaves, acorns, and branches, and a shield; date sheet for performances beginning on December 13, [1886], at the Grand Opera House in Brooklyn, New York, pasted at bottom of image; the poster advertises Aldrich presumably in the drama "My Partner" by Bartley Campbell.
Probable date based on month and day in item text and general show history; Louis Aldrich performed "My Partner" at the Grand Opera House in Brooklyn, New York, the week of December 13, 1886 (Odell, Annals of New York, Vol. XIII, page 361). "Thomas, Sterling & Wylie Lith 7 E 19th St. N.Y."--text, bottom right margin. "Grand Opera House / One Week, / Commencing / Monday, / Dec. 13 / Matinees Wednesday and Saturday."--text, date sheet at bottom edge.
