Image of an Irish outdoor dancing festival with men and women in historical costumes dancing as couples, and a stone Celtic cross, castle, ruins, bridge and mountains in the background; the poster advertisers the Irish melodrama "Peep o' Day" written by Edmund Falconer and based on a story by Irish writer John Banim.
Probable date based on 1862 newspaper advertisements for the show at the theatre (such as "Laura Keene's Theater ... The Macarthy; Or Peep O' Day ..." ["Amusements," New-York Daily Tribune, 10 March 1862, page 1]). "Lith. of Shearman & Hart 99 Fulton St. N.Y."--text, bottom right.
