Description
INTACT - For more than twenty years, while the State of California used the bank building at 7th and J streets to house some of its office workers, this room on the 7th floor remained virtually intact. No workman's paintbrush covered the gilt decorated ceiling with monochrome buff. No efficiency expert ordered the cut glass chandelier junked and replaced with flourescent lighting. The result: very little work needed to be done to convert it into a handsome board room for the building's new owner, the Bank of Sacramento. The bank formally openede its headquarters in the refurbished structure last week. It purchased the building from the State last year.
