Aerial view of the Ford Motor Company, Mercury Plant site located at 8900 E. Washington Boulevard in Pico Rivera; view is looking west. The plant, still under construction but on the verge of completion, is located on the corner of Rosemead Boulevard (bottom left corner) and Washington Boulevard (bottom left to middle right); Paramount Boulevard runs diagonally at upper middle (middle right to upper left), and Rio Hondo parallels it at extreme top. The 157-acre manufacturing facility was dedicated on May 6, 1948; the plant closed in 1980 and was purchased by Northrop Grumman in 1982. Photograph dated November 14, 1956.
