Description
Original photograph has several small stains.
Newhall, named after businessman Henry Newhall, is the southernmost and oldest district of Santa Clarita. Prior to the 1987 consolidation into the city of Santa Clarita, it was an unincorporated town.
Photograph caption dated January 13, 1955 reads "Students linger near new library building at William S. Hart High School in Newhall. Cecile Warring, Marlene Hunter and Barbara Abert, from left, will be among students using new addition's 15,000 books. Contractor was Howard Layne."
