Description
Aztlan, San Fernando, 1980. Las Palmas Park, exterior fence, 505 Huntington Street (at Hollister Street), San Fernando. Thirteen segments of a wall along the rear perimeter of the park are painted with traditional images from the Mayan and Aztec cultures. They tell allegorical stories of creation and destiny. The poetry, expressed in both English and Spanish, was written by Juan Pueblo. Cinder block, directed by Juan Pueblo, painted by about 30 local youth.
