Dye, Chengtu [now Chengdu] W ChinaPlate 87(place this above)Two pieces under 'plate 87' Do not call these two part one + part two but 'plate 87' -- Differentiate by unprimed a, b, c, + primed a', b', c' as 'a' and 'a'' are the two ends of the same belt.place small letters at side of picture a b c d e f g h' "U. of Pa. " Nine belts made of textile on display.
Daniel S. Dye was a faculty member at West China Union University who traveled widely in west China to gather examples of woven handiwork and lattice patterns.
