Description
(DS 10.2000) Note translation: There is a ms caption from Rev. Steudle which may refer to this image. "Accident on 11th November 1930 as the brethren Schneider and Schäfer arrived in Bali. The car, which was standing vertically in the river, has already been pulled out onto the road by pupils of the Bali school." Wilhelm Schneider was active in Cameroon from 1930. Schäfer, on the other hand, was a missionary in Ghana. Was Schäfer visiting Schneider, or vica versa? If the former the image should not be among the Ghana pictures (DS. 10.2000). Stamped: "Museum der Basler Mission, Basel, Missionsstrasse 21."
