Photograph of an aerial view of Hyperion Viaduct over Riverside Drive and the Hyperion Bridge over flooding Los Angeles River, 1938. At center, the wide river extends from the bottom to the top of the image. Towards the top, the Hyperion Bridge cross from one bank to another, automobiles traversing their length. At right, city buildings can be seen in closely-spaced blocks. At left, the area appears less developed, although what appear to be industrial buildings are set close to the river's edge.
