Description
Photograph of earthquake damage on Howard Street where eleven people were killed, San Francisco, 1906. A finely dressed couple stands on the far side of the street which lies across the foreground. They are facing the fallen building just behind them at center. The surrounding brick buildings still stand in tact, but the debris from the center building has spilled over a wooden fence and onto the sidewalk.
