Description
Photograph of a drawing of a view of a surveyor's monument on San Bernardino Mountain, ca.1900. The monument consists of a mound made of small rocks with a large post sticking out. Chains provide support for the post, and what appears to be a lantern can be seen at the top. Two diamond-shaped pieces hang from either side of the post. The drawing is labeled in several places with letters, and dotted lines show the location of underground supports.
