Between 1954 and 1990, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul leased several different grounds for its boys summer camp program. St. Vincent de Paul Ranch Camp was located in the Santa Susana Mountains in Granada Hills until it was destroyed by fire. In 1990, the Society purchased Circle V Camp near Santa Barbara for co-ed summer camps. Photograph caption dated July 19, 1958 reads, "Campers from left, Tom Winters and Frank Schutz visit ranch corral and camp's two pet burrros. Camp also has two pet ducks that roam about. Sponsored by St. Vincent de Paul Society, Metropolitan Central Council of Los Angeles, summer program is open to boys 8 to 12 years of age."
