This photo of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church, nestled between a business and a residential home, was taken from across the street along Vernon Ave. It shows a cream-color building with brown roof and trim, a large square "castle" bell tower over the main entrance of the church, and a large cathedral window on the right. A banner above the doors reads "Palestine Missionary Baptist Church" and lists the names of the current pastors, which are illegible as the writing is so small. A black security fence surrounds the entire church. Verso on the photograph says that in 1906 this church was known as St. Luke's Episcopal Church, and in 1940 it became Progressive Baptist Church. It does not, however, list when it acquired its current name. Photo dated April 22, 2004.
