Description
This circa 1927 photograph shows several men posing before the aeration pools at the city of Sacramento's water filtration plant. Directly behind them are mixing tanks while, in the background, is the plant's sedimentation basin. A leader in water purification at the time this photograph was taken, Sacramento joined 13 other leading cities in saving an estimated 2,700 lives, annually, through its purification efforts.
