Description
Bruce Wagner discusses his book, “Chrysanthemum Palace.” He begins by discussing how this is the first book he has written in the first person, which he chose to do because he wanted to capture the feeling of the every man and a “Great Gatsby” type mood. He then describes the various characters in the book and how an alternate title of the book was “The Children Of.” In the novel he explores what it is like to have a parent that is famous or wealthy and how that might be a burden to both the child and parent. Wagner relates his own experiences growing up in Hollywood and the children he knew that dealt with similar issues and how it affected them. Later in the interview he reads aloud from his work.
