View of street with cable car tracks leading in; on left 5 story building dominates photo;on ground floor are tall round-arched windows; rectangular windows in pairs are located on 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th floors; in distance can be seen a domed building; on right side are buildings, identified by vertical signs: "Drugs" on corner building, followed by "Clothing" and then "Hotel" further down; cars parked on both sides of street.
Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento.
