Description
Five Japanese men and women standing next to Japanese architectural element and sign, with sign "1st and Santa Clara Sts. San Jose, California, USA. 6,955 air miles from Okayama, Japan." This photograph was likely taken in Okayama. The accompanying letter (see 1997-222-3a) refers to the gift of a lantern from Japan to the San Jose Womans Club for the Japanese garden at City Hall as part of the Sister Cities program.
