Built in the 1880s, the "Salt Box" was Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #5. In March 1969, the home was relocated to Heritage Square, but seven months later, the structure was invaded by vandals and burned to the ground. The "Salt Box" house at 339 S. Bunker Hill Avenue.
