Description
Photograph of a view of Lafayette Park, showing people seated on benches, ca.1920-1929. At center, three park-goers sit on a single bench, in the middle of an open stretch of grass. Farther left, a lone man sits on a second bench facing the opposite way, towards the highrise building in the background. Various palm trees obscure the bottom of the highrise. A group of shrubs can be seen in the left foreground. Note: originally, the image was captioned as "View of Westlake Park (later MacArthur Park)".
