Photograph caption dated February 1, 1956 reads, "Loading part of a seven-ton shipment of bedding, clothing and other household items for the Eureka area, hardest hit of all Northern California flood-stricken areas, are (left to right) Mrs. Margaret Sherman, 11327 Moorpark St.; Mrs. Susan Stecker, 11505 Hatteras St.; Mrs. Erling Calkins, 14153 Claretta St., and Pastor Erling Calkins of the North Hollywood Seventh-day Adventist Church. Some 70 churches in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties are gathering materials for shipment. This is the second shipment in two weeks' time sent to Northern California flooded areas."
