Photo--sepia carte de visite: Reverend . John L. Burchard (d 1902) , religious leader in the Green Valley area and a friend of the Sullivan family. At his death in 1902 Burchard was one of the oldest Methodist ministers of California. He was ordained a minister at the age of 19 in Delaware. In the spring of 1860 he came across the plains and settled in San Francisco. From that time till his retirement he was a leader of the California Methodist Conference. He served in nearly every town or city of any size in California and his last charge was the Methodist church in Santa Rosa. Photograph by T. L. Rea & Co. of Santa Rosa.
