[Side A: The recording begins with an interview with a demonstrator from the San Francisco rally. He describes the was police officers treated him once they took him into custody. This interview only goes on for about four minutes until a KPFA reporter gives an overview of their program schedule. For about an hour there is an interview with Dr. Leon (or Leo) McClatchy who is the chairman of the academic senate at San Francisco State College (now University) by reporter Colin Edwards. During the interview they spoke about the demands made by the Black Student Association and Third World Liberation Front, violence on campus and San Francisco State College President Hiyakawa. (51:13-3:03:48) KPFA program "Sounds of an Unsound Collage". This is a collage of live broadcast recordings made by reporters Danny Smithson, Burton White, and Van Helsing of the TWLF noon rally, descriptions of the administration building and student - police confrontation which ended in violence and arrests. (3:03:49-3:38:11) KPFA News by Don Porche; includes more information of the TWLF rally and the press conferance of San Francisco Mayor Joseph Alioto and San Francisco State College President Hiyakawa, stating that they believed police behaved professionally and estimated the creation of the Ethnic Studies Department on February 28th.
