Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Original photograph has a small stains on the right side of the picture. By 1954, the Los Angeles County Department of Forester and Fire Warden, Fish and Game and Fire Protection Districts consolidated to become the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The address was renumbered in the 1950s and the building was replaced with what is now Fire Station 73. The street was renamed in 2008. The current address is 24875 Railroad Ave.; Newhall, named after businessman Henry Newhall, is the southernmost and oldest district of Santa Clarita. Prior to the 1987 consolidation into the city of Santa Clarita, it was an unincorporated town. Photograph caption reads "Co-ordinate work in battalion office to keep huge forest area safe from fire." Mrs. Yeah is fire dispatcher for Soledad Division, Battalion 6, Department of Forester and Fire Warden at 1453 San Fernando Road in Newhall.; See images #00136652 through #00136653 for all photos in this series.
